Alexandra-Maria-Lara

Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film famous for her performance in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. The actress was the only son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. In her early teens she portrayed the lead character in various television dramas. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the film made for television Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including that of the secretary of Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. Alexandra worked on several notable national and international projects throughout her career. A few of them include the British biographical movie Control, the Greek drama movie The Dust of Time, and the French historical mini-series Napoleon. In addition, she has been an official juror for the Transylvania International Film Festival as and The Cannes Film Festival.
